Schools of Sanctuary is a national network of over 350 primary and secondary schools all committed to supporting the thousands of young people seeking sanctuary in the UK, creating a culture of welcome, and raising awareness of the issues faced by refugees and asylum seekers. We are excited to be on our journey to becoming a School of Sanctuary. We are committed to being a safe, friendly and welcoming place to everybody.

Our annual celebration, ‘A Day of Welcome’ which is held on the Friday before Refugee Week in June. As part of this day, the school recognises and embraces the languages spoken in our school, takes part in live events with authors and collaborates to create meaningful artwork.

Recognising how our purposeful curriculum links to refugee and asylum seeker issues. From learning about the Stone Age, the Vikings and the Windrush story in History to exploring migration in Geography. We celebrate authors, artists, designers and important historical figures from all over the world.

Celebrating the diversity of our school community through our school values, PSHE curriculum, assemblies and special off curriculum days.
